PLEASE READ BELOW FOR IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATES TO OUR PSYCHOTHERAPY SERVICES.
SEPTEMBER 1, 2020:We are excited to announce that, in addition to already being able to provide telehealth services to patients in Missouri, The Neuropsychology Center of St. Louis now has the capability to provide telehealth services (both Assessment and Psychotherapy services) to patients in the following states:
Additionally, we will also have the ability to provide telehealth services (both Assessment and Psychotherapy services) to patients in Virginia (beginning January 1, 2021) and North Carolina (beginning March 1, 2021).
This is possible through the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) - an interstate compact designed to facilitate the practice of telepsychology across state boundaries. Currently, 13 states have signed legislation to join PSYPACT, 2 more have signed legislation that will go in to effect in 2021, and 16 more introduced legislation in 2020 that is pending, but has yet to be signed in to law. For more information on PSYPACT, click here.
MARCH 25, 2020: Prior to COVID-19, The Neuropsychology Center of St. Louis provided both in-person psychotherapy as well as virtual psychotherapy via various telehealth platforms. As of this update (March 25, 2020) we are not currently offering in-person psychotherapy, though we will continue to provide virtual psychotherapy via various telehealth platforms. As many of our patients may be unaccustomed to conducting health care via telehealth, we are happy to talk to you individually by phone to explain the process and answer any questions you have. If you are new to telehealth, some of the potential benefits of this modality of care include:
Decreased fee (see below for more information)
Decreased time required to conduct your session due to travel to/from the office
Increased service area where we can engage with patients beyond the St. Louis Metro region
Decreased cost for gas/other transportation costs
Decreases exposure to public spaces in accordance with current guidelines for reducing exposure to COVID-19
Decreased mileage on your personal vehicle
In addition, some of the telehealth modalities we utilize allow for insurance coverage of your services, meaning that your cost for a 50-minute session could be as little as your typical co-pay for care, as opposed to paying the full fee if you were to be seen in-person.
